Cool, interesting, fun locations to charge your electric vehicle
Yeah, you know the locations around and near you and some of you have traveled around some, but what are some cool or interesting electric vehicle charging station locations out there? I thought I would compile an occasional list of some of the interesting locations or businesses where you can charge up your electric vehicle that are on the CarStations map. If you have some suggestions of others you think we should highlight, drop us a line!
This one was actually recently featured in a Ford web campaign.
Stevens Pass Ski resort in Washington. We have spoken several times to the awesome Ross Freeman @ Stevens Pass who is their Environment and Sustainability manager there. Yep, he knows he has the killer job. Make sure to say hi and tell him thanks to being probably the first ski resort to have a charging station if not in the world, at least the U.S.
This is the Melton Hill Dam recreation area in Lenoir City, TN Check out the pics how beautiful it is there.
I want to highlight this one below as this is a new type program that may catch on. NRG with their EVGO network
out in the Dallas Metro area is building their own network of charging stations including Level3. The cool part as a consumer is you pay one simple monthly fee which covers the power to your house and free access to all the charging stations in their coverage area including Level3. Below is one of the first locations @ Walgreens. Check out the cool lighted night shot.
Here is an example from the Sheraton in Downtown Atlanta. They just decided to have a few 110 plugs and reserved parking for electric vehicles. It’s a less expensive trend we see happening some where business are simply installing 110 or 220 plugs. Campgrounds have been doing this forever, so it certainly makes sense. Also if you need that extra 5 or 10 miles to get home, even 110 is your friend.
Of course, here is a favorite of folks in L.A. The LaX airport has free parking for Electric cars right at the terminals. Maybe you can convince your airport to do the same?
